IELTS Listening: Part 1 (review)
Part 1 IELTS Listening
In Part 1 of the IELTS Listening exam, you will listen and fill in the blanks as you hear them.
Remember to:
- Understand the question and the Instructions: Section 1 Questions 1-10Complete the form below.
Write NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER for each answer. - Use correct punctuation and spelling
- Predict what to listen for: names, numbers, or things
- Listen for distracters: misinformation or information that the speaker changes
IMPORTANT:
i. you can only hear the recording once
ii. check how many words you can use for each answer
iii. Read over the blanks/ notes to get an overview of the content (the gist)
iv. If part of the answer is given, do not repeat it in your answer as it will be marked incorrect
v. check that you have spelled the answers correctly
vi. write your answers on a blank piece of paper given to you; you will have time at the end of the exam (if written) to transfer your answers to the answer sheet – (or correct the drop-down boxes)
